Contemporary Botanical Art: The Shirley Sherwood Collection

Botanical art is undergoing a quiet renaissance as botanists turn their back on photography and commission illustrator to document nature with pencil, pen, watercolour and gouache.

Celebrating this renaissance, the S.H. Ervin Gallery presents the world’s finest collection of contemporary botanical art collected by Dr Shirley Sherwood and first shown at London’s Royal Kew Gardens in 1995. Five continents are represented and one hundred artists including world famous Australians as Susannah Blaxhill, Paul Jones, Jenny Phillips and Celia Rosser.
