Join us for some fun art-making workshops these holidays!


Landscape Impressions – Make your own landscape sketchbook

 Wednesday 30 September , 10am – 3pm  Ages: 8-12

Experience the Salon des Refuses landscape paintings on exhibition and then create your own handmade sketchbook for you to paint your own artworks in. Utilising our newly made sketchbooks, we will explore the Observatory Hill Park, which is next door to the gallery, and paint/draw some landscape impressions en plein air! (Weather permitting)


Embracing ME – Self-Portrait Painting

Friday 2 October, 10am – 3pm  Age: 8-12

Inspired by the portraiture paintings in the Salon des Refuses exhibition, create your own Self-Portrait painting. Utilising a variety of materials, students will take home their own inspired self-portrait painting on canvas.



Fantasy Figures – 3D Paper Sculpture

Date: Tuesday 6 October 10am – 3pm  Age: 8-12

Create your own 3D Fantasy figure sculpture. Students will explore building an armature and constructing a figure using their imagination and creativity.


Jewels of Colour Make your own jewellery

Date: Wednesday 7 October, 10am – 3pm Age: 8-12

Design and create a range of colourfully decorated polymer clay jewellery pieces that you can take home and wear. Experience the creative process from designing shapes and construction to decoration.

What to bring:

  • Covered shoes and an apron or old clothes – If you have an aprons please bring them with you otherwise please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting MESSY!!
  • Your lunch  & a drink – we will have a break in the middle of the day for ½ hour.
  • Your excitement, imagination and creativity!

We are a registered Creative Kids provider which is a great opportunity to let kids discover their passions and learn new skills. Parents of children aged 4.5 – 18 years old can apply for a voucher with a value of up to $100 per child per calendar year to put towards the cost of their child creative activities.
